How To Choose The Best Prostate Massager

how to choose a prostate massagerHow To Choose The Best Prostate Massager For Your Needs

How many questions would you have to answer to find out which prostate massager is best for you?

5? 10? 20?

How about 4?

All it takes is 4 questions and you will find the perfect prostate massager that takes into account all your preferences, from budget to sensory preferences.

Our new quiz will revolutionize the way men shop for prostate massagers because instead of doing hours of research, reading tons of sex toy reviews, all you have to do is take our 4-question, 20-second quiz.

How is that possible?

Because the research we’ve done  reveals that men only have a few criteria that actually matters to them:

  1. Is this prostate massager for beginners, intermediate or Advanced?
  2. Is this prostate massager going to cost me a little or a lot?
  3. Is this prostate massager made out of body safe materials or am I going to die a horrible death in the ER?
  4. Does this prostate massager vibrate?

Find out which prostate massagers got the highest scores in our Moan-O-Meter rankings for:

Best Prostate Massager Overall

Best Prostate Massager for Beginners

Best Prostate Massager for Intermediate/Advanced

We took these questions to heart.  They form the basis of our soon-to-be-famous prostate massager quiz.

Answering those four questions produce 48 different variations. That means that if you take our quiz and change the answer to just one of those questions you are highly likely to get a recommendation to another prostate massager.

Our quiz will not only recommend the best prostate massager for your needs it also provides links to retailers who carry the product at the lowest price.

The bottom line?

Our quiz gets you the prostate massager that best fits your needs at the lowest price.

If that doesn’t give you an O-face we don’t know what will.

Here’s another fantastic thing about our quiz– we don’t actually recommend any one massager over another. We simply point out which massager have the highest scores  from professional sex toy critics and civilian users with verified purchases.

We get those scores by aggregating all the reviews, developing statistically sound scores out of them, and then presenting them to you as a way a signaling the “wisdom of the crowd.”

Just like the movie review site Rotten Tomatoes, we do not actually review any of the products we recommend. We are aggregators not critics. To us, it’s more important to tell you what users of the product say about the product than what we do.

In the end, it doesn’t matter what we think about the product because we could only offer you a glimpse into our own personal taste.

Why do that when we can offer you a  360 degree look at what everyone else has to say.

In addition to scoring each massager via aggregated reviews, we also summarize/synthesize what the consensus is for each one of these products. We list the pros, the cons and the in-between.

This gives you an unprecedented view of the product that you could not get with your own research.

Enough of our blathering. Are you ready to take the quiz?

No need to schedule it, as it only takes about 20 seconds and that’s if you have a bad internet connection 🙂

Note:  If you’d rather read the questions on the quiz you can find them verbatim in our post, How To Choose The Right Prostate Massager.

How We Rank Our Prostate Massagers

best prostate massagersHow We Rank Our Prostate Massagers

Meet our Moan-O- Meter

You know how Rotten Tomatoes has a Tomatometer score? We call ours the Moan-O- Meter score.  Although our products are completely different the process with which we arrive at our scores is not.

On the critics side, we both have teams that read critical reviews and turn them into a single understandable score.  Our methodology is pretty simple: We categorize each expert critic review in five ways–very negative, negative, neutral, positive, and very positive.

Once we have those categorizations, our statistician creates a model that heavily weights both the number of reviews and whether they fall into the positive or very positive categories.

For instance, a prostate massager with 10 neutral reviews would actually be ranked higher than a prostate massager with one positive review. Why? Because the more reviews you have the more trustworthy the information is.

On the consumer side, Rotten Tomatoes relies on ratings  from people who saw the movie while we rely on reviews from people with verified purchases.  We get these reviews from independent, third-party product review companies that works hand-in-hand with Google Reviews to ensure they are actually coming from consumers who’ve made verified purchases.

Basically, we have to do this by hand. That means we have a team of researchers that go into every online sex toy retailer and sees if there are reviews four the candidate product. They write down the number of reviews and the average score of those reviews.

To rank the products equitably, we develop a model that  gives more weight to the number of reviews as well as the positivity of them. Once again, we have to guard against products being ranked high with only one or two reviews with a 5.0. by weighting the results so we can make sure that the products that rank the highest also have the most amount of reviews.

Of course the other similarity we have with Rotten Tomatoes is the fact that we use our research to investigate the pros and cons of each product. That means painstakingly reading not just all the critical expert reviews but the dozens and sometimes hundreds of user or “civilian” reviews from people who have made verified purchases.

This is a very time-consuming task because as you can imagine many reviews contradict each other. For every person who likes a product there seems to be others who don’t.

How do you make sense out of this kind of contradictory data? Well, you read and read and read and dig and dig and dig until you get to a point where there is a consensus of the things that are right with a product and a consensus about things that might not be.

We are also very careful about always mentioning flaws that keep popping up in different reviews. These flaws are sometimes universally noted even by the people who like the product but more often they are articulated by a minority of reviewers.

Even though they may be a minority we always mention these negatives because we think it’s important that you know about them.

And that is how prostate massagers get scored in our Moan-O- Meter.  Be sure to check out the top three winners in massagers: The Best Prostate Massager For Men,  The Best Prostate Massager For Beginners,  and The Best Prostate Massager For Advanced Players.

We surveyed critic and user reviews all across the web to come up with our Top 10 Non-Vibrating Prostate Massagers.

Just like  Rotten Tomatoes, the movie review aggregating site, we survey all the critical and user reviews (only we do it from sex blogs and online sex toy retailers) and turn them into percentage scores to help your buying decisions.

This amounts to crowdsourcing what people think about prostate massagers.

The Problem With Prostate Massager Critics

We don’t know about you, but while critic reviews can be helpful they’re also very limited and limiting. First, they rely on the personal taste of the reviewer, which you may not share.

Second, that reviewer is probably making money off that review, compelling him or her to either give the product a better review than it deserves or to only publish reviews of products that they liked so they could say nice things about it and convince you to buy them.

The problem with looking at user reviews is different.  Namely, that you typically only look at the reviews from one online retailer. But there are over 200 online retailers who sell sex toys. What do the reviews about that same product say on those other platforms? You are certainly not going to go through a couple of hundred platforms to figure it out.

Especially when we do it for you. 🙂

What makes our list of Top 10 Non Vibrating Prostate Massagers Of 2019  so different is that it’s a consensus of what critics and users have to say about each product.

This means that you are reducing the risk of buying a dud. Buying a product on the basis of one or two critical or user reviews can be very risky. But that risk is reduced when you have dozens of critic reviews and sometimes hundreds of user reviews from across different stores.

What Kind Of Prostate Massager Should You Consider Buying?

You’ll notice that our Top 10  Non Vibrating Prostate Massagers are made from many different materials– silicone,  glass, steel, and plastic.

How do you decide which one you would like better?

Silicon is squishier. It feels a lot more deluxe than any other material. But it does have some drawbacks. First, you can’t use silicone lubes, which is a total bummer if you are a fan of them.

Depending on the product and the grade of silicone used, silicone products can retain those not so sweet smells once you’ve used them.

What about glass?

A lot of people get squeamish about putting glass up their butts. They picture the glass breaking and suddenly finding themselves starring in a sex toy horror flick.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Manufacturers use pretty much unbreakable glass to make sex toys. We say pretty much because the glass can break but you’d almost have to take a hammer to it or drop it from a third-story window.

But why would people want to use glass as a sex toy?

The smoothness of the material allows you to glide in and out easily. And if you warm it in hot water or cool it in the freezer it can have some profoundly delightful sensations.

What about steel? Why would you want to use that?

Steel adds heft. If you like the feeling of fullness, steel can be a very good friend indeed.

In addition, medical grade steel is polished to perfection. It is quite beautiful and if you’re going to put something in your body why not make that something truly beautiful?

What about plastic?

Plastic has its own advantage. First, it’s cheaper to produce so therefore cheaper to buy.

Second, plastic sex toys are usually made out of one piece. Meaning, there is no seam, as there are in many silicone products. This is a deal-breaker for some people as they detest seams in their sex toys.

Plastic is also much easier to clean, an added bonus.

How To Clean Sex Toys

how to clean sex toys

How To Clean Sex Toys

Nobody teaches how to clean sex toys in sex-ed.  So when you’ve just had an incredible solo play session with your favorite toy, and you’re totally blissed out, or if you played with a partner and you’d rather drift off to sleep wrapped in each other’s arms we get why you wouldn’t think about the unsexy topic of toy hygiene. Cleaning that little button of bliss is just not…well, a priority.

So much easier to just set it aside, slip it in your bedside drawer, and promise yourself to clean it tomorrow. You’ll get to it eventually. Or so you tell yourself.

It’s even easier to convince yourself that cleaning sex toys is not a priority if you don’t share toys. You’ll just rinse them off every once in a while and call it all good. No big deal, right?

Wrong. The least you can do for the toys-that-cause-your-toes-to-curl is to keep them appropriately clean. On the regular.

Not to mention, eww. Who wants to play with a dirty toy?

Cleaning Sex Toys Prolongs Their Life

Cleaning your sex toys is the responsible thing to do. Also, it extends the life of your “baubles of bliss” and you want to keep those babies coming (excuse the pun) on for as long as you can.

Besides, can you even imagine pulling out your favorite toy, and having it smell or god-forbid it has bits of something on it? What if you pulled it out in that condition in front of a partner? What if that partner was someone NEW?

Critic Amber Rose at My Slut Box admonishes cleanliness when it comes to sex toys, saying “Dirty toys can cause nasty infections, and sharing improperly cleaned toys with a partner can actually transmit STIs and STDs between you and bae. Yikes!”

Bacteria the Boner Killer

Avoiding bacteria and infections–especially preventing sexually transmitted diseases–are pretty powerful motivators for keeping your toys clean. According to Brown University, “while some STIs die once the fluid they live in dries, others (such as hepatitis and scabies) can live for weeks or months outside of the body.”

What’s that? Oh, it’s the sound of desire deflating faster than balloon in cold weather. Diseases tend to do that, unfortunately.

SexBloggess warns that you’ll want to be extra careful with your disinfecting routine “if you have had an STI recently, but also if you’ve experienced any oral (strep throat, bronchitis, the flu, etc) vaginal (yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis, UTIs, etc) or anal (actual anal infections but also stomach/bowel illnesses such as diarhea) infections.”

Beware Playing Whack-a-Hole

Whether you are sharing with a partner or using your toy solo, always use caution when using one toy for both vaginal and anal play. You may want to have extra toys handy rather than risk infection from going back and forth willy nilly.

And unless you are sharing with a fluid-bonded partner whom you know to be free of infections, sharing is not a good idea. Self advises that “the rectum is home to all kinds of bacteria your vagina isn’t used to, like E. coli, and some of this bacteria could get transferred to a toy you use anally. If that bacteria comes in contact with your (or your partner’s) urinary tract, it could cause a urinary tract infection (UTI).”

The Sex Toy Protection Act

Protecting your investment is always a good idea. Expert sex toy ctitic Lily at Dangerous Lily recommends proper cleaning not only for health and safety, but also for the longevity of your toys. Most sex toys (at least the ones you should be buying and sticking inside your body) aren’t exactly cheap. If you are going to invest your hard-earned cash in a high-quality sex toy that provides hours of pleasure and (hopefully) reality-altering orgasms, the least you can is make sure it lasts as long as you do.

Critic Mia Hart at Blissful Cherry agrees: ”Especially when it comes to the pricier sex toys, it’s definitely a good feeling knowing that you are truly getting the most out of your purchase before having to replace it.”

How To Clean Your Sex Toys

Now that you know WHY you have to clean your sex toys, you need to know HOW.  Which depends on the material they’re made of. Are they porous or non-porous? Not all cleaning processes provide the same results so make sure you know whether your toy is porous or non-porous.

Non-Porous

The most important distinction between porous and non-porous toys is the fact that “non-porous sex toys are the only ones that can be safely shared (without the need for a condom barrier)”, says expert sex toy critic Dangerous Lily.

Toys made from materials such as metal, glass, ceramic, stone, wood, and 100% silicone are all non-porous and can be safely sanitized for safe sharing.

Porous

Porous toys, on the other hand, can only be cleaned with soap and water, meaning they cannot be thoroughly sanitized. “Jelly, latex, PVC, rubber, cyberskin, unsealed woods and ceramics, other weird shit that should never be a sex toy material in the first place – all porous. This means microorganisms can penetrate and camp out inside the pores of the material, growing and potentially causing infection,” explains SexBloggess.

Know the Difference Between Clean, Disinfect, and Sanitize

Professional sex toy critic SexBloggess encourages sex toy owners to learn the basics of toy cleaning vocabulary. “ Clean, Disinfect, Sanitize, and Sterilize – are all used fairly interchangeably to those who don’t work in medical/health, scientific, or food service industries, but they do mean very different things, so it’s important to know their differences and how they relate to your sex toys, and ultimately, your safety,” explains SexBloggess.

Scientific reasons why prostate massagers help you cum more and shoot farther.

Clean.

Cleaning really only refers to the simple process of washing a toy off with soap and water. While this may clear any debris on the toy, it is not thorough enough to consider a toy safe for sharing, nor does it protect you from reinfecting yourself with bacteria if you use your toy while having an infection. Cleaning your toy should be the first step in the overall cleaning process, says SexBloggess. “Cleaning with soap and water may remove some germs from the surface, but doesn’t claim to kill them. Disinfecting, sanitizing, and sterilizing cannot happen on any dirty surface with debris keeping parts covered.”

Disinfect.

The process of disinfecting a toy generally requires a soaking period and often with a chemical additive to aid in the killing of germs. Bleach, isopropyl alcohol, and hydrogen peroxide are common products used for disinfecting, typically at a 10% disinfectant/90% water solution. SexBlogess points out that “Disinfecting doesn’t necessarily clean,” and you should always wipe your toy clean of all debris prior to the disinfection process.

Sanitize.

Is there a difference between disinfecting and sanitizing? For our purposes, not really (disinfecting is where you want to go). However, beware toys that claim that throwing them into the dishwasher means they are automatically sanitized. For true disinfecting and sanitizing, you must soak them in germ-killing solutions.

How To Clean Sex Toys of Different Materials

Now that you know the why and the how of cleaning your little orgasm-a-trons, let’s talk about recommendations for specific toys.

Silicone toys.

If your toy is 100% silicone, it’s non-porous and you have many options for cleaning and disinfecting. Clean and remove debris by washing with soap and water, and consider disinfecting by boiling or soaking in a 10% bleach solution every few uses, especially if used for anal play. Be aware that “while silicone is considered non-porous, it’s actually microporous and can hang on to odors,” warns expert critic Dangerous Lily. Preventing and removing smells is another reason to disinfect regularly.

Steel toys.

Steel, being non-porous, is also easy to clean. Similar to cleaning methods used for silicone, steel toys can washed with soap and water after use, and your choice of disinfecting method when needed. You can boil your steel toy (be sure to let the toy cool before handling to prevent burns) and if you choose to use a bleach solution, be sure to use COLD water, since “warm bleach can ruin stainless steel,” recommends Lyps.

Glass toys.

Wash your glass toys with soap and water. As with silicone and steel, you can disinfect by boiling for 3-4 minutes, being careful that it is cooled down before handling. A mild bleach solution of 10% bleach and 90% water is also an option, though Self advises you should “rinse it off thoroughly, then wash it with mild soap and water. Bleach is persona non grata for your vagina and related parts. You need to make sure there’s not a trace left before using the toy.”

Plastic toys.

Be sure you know what kind of plastic your toy is made out of before cleaning it. A hard ABS plastic is non-porous and non-toxic, and can be cleaned like your silicone, glass, and steel toys. You should skip the boiling and bleach solution and “use the wipe-down method or soap and water. Shiny ABS plastic can handle rubbing alcohol, PU [polyurethane] coated might not. Refer to the manufacturer’s instructions if they have any,” says Dangerous Lily. Thermoplastics are another story. They are porous, and “porous toys can give you yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis, expose your vagina/anus to harsh chemicals or mold, and more,” Dangerous Lily explains. The best you can do with thermoplastics is washing with soap and water, and they can never be sanitized, which makes them unsafe.

Find out how prostate massagers will make you cum like a porn star

Wood toys.

Is your wood sex toy sealed? If not, find out before cleaning. Properly sealed wood is non-porous, if the wood isn’t sealed it will be porous. You should also be aware that wood toy sealants can wear off over time, meaning that eventually it will become porous and unable to be disinfected. Dangerous Lily recommends purchasing toys from Nobessence if wood toys are your thing, and be sure to follow manufacture cleaning instructions: “Clean your wood sex toys with a soft cloth, and do not use abrasive cleaners. Currently Nobessence is the only company making wooden sex toys with a medical-grade finish that can tolerate diluted bleach washes / rubbing alcohol for sanitization in between partners.”

After cleaning, be sure to store your toys properly.

In addition to keeping your toys clean, you’ll also want to make sure they’re stored properly. A toy that’s stored while still wet can mildew, and a toy just rolling around in your junk drawer is prone to pick up undesirable hitchhikers like lint, hair, and germs. An unprotected sex toy can also get damaged if not properly stored, causing it to be unsafe to use.

Should I invest in commercialized sex toy cleaners?

The easy way is not always the best way. While there are a ton of products on the market claiming to be all you need to clean your sex toys, professional sex toy critic Robyn at Secret Room says “The truth is…Sex toy cleaners should NOT be your go-to washing method.” Between questionable claims, suspicious ingredients, and unknown long-term effects on you and your toy, it is not a necessity for clean toys, but more of a convenience.“It’s nice to have, but you don’t NEED it,” explains Robyn.

It may serve a purpose when you are traveling without access to bleach or boiling water, and expert critic Robyn uses it as one part of a multi-step process: “I like to use a sex toy cleaner as a stage after soap and before disinfecting. It’s another layer of hygiene for the germophobic.” So feel free to buy a bottle, but make sure it is not your sole method of cleaning your toys.

Can’t I just use a condom on my sex toys?

Here’s a pro tip from expert sex toy critic Dangerous Lily: When using condoms with your sex toys, use non-lubricated condoms or be sure that the condom is lubricated with a water-based lube. “Most condoms that are lubricated use a silicone lube, and it is usually a cheap one.”

Silicone lubes don’t mix silicone sex toys. That’s kind of a funny rule to remember, but you must if you want to keep your toys safe: Silicone lubes will destroy silicone sex toys.

What have we learned?

Cleaning your toys should be a two-part process of removing debris, then using a material appropriate method of sanitizing. In a perfect world, you would do this every time you use your toy. In reality, you’re more likely to clean with soap and water after use, and use a disinfecting method every couple of uses.

That rule changes, of course, if you’re doing a lot of anal play. Disinfecting often is especially important when you go south. Take good care of your toys, and your toys will take good care of you!

Live long and come often, friends.

Top Ten Prostate Massagers For Advanced Players

top 10 prostate massagers advancedTop Ten Prostate Massagers For Advanced Players

We got our Top 10 Prostate Massagers For Advanced Players by aggregating critic and user reviews from across the web and turning them into buying scores to help you decide what to purchase.

Like the movie review site Rotten Tomatoes, we do not actually review products. Instead, we do a sort of survey a critics and users to see what they have to say.

It works like this: we scoured the web for professional critics– people who run sex blogs and review sex toys as part of their living. We read each and every one of them, take notes on what they liked and what they didn’t. We calculate each review in terms of six categories– very negative, negative, neutral, positive, very positive.

Then we synthesize or summarize everything that the critics said into what we call the “Critics Consensus.” Then we run this through our Moan-O-Meter where we come up with a percentage score from zero to a hundred.

Of course what critics have to say is not necessarily what users have to say, as any reading of Rotten Tomatoes will tell you. Therefore, we do the painstaking process of looking up every review that has a verified purchase attached to it across the web. That means we go through dozens of online sex toy stores looking for reviews.

Then we do what we did with the critics— we summarize the consensus among reviewers, average their scores and then rank them in our Moan-O-Meter.

The result?

An entirely new way of sizing up a sex toy. Now instead of relying on any one reviewer’s personal taste you can rely on the wisdom of the crowds.

We are proud to present our Top 10 Prostate Massagers For Advanced Players based on aggregated reviews from critics and users. We’ve also given you links to the cheapest places to buy the winning products. We may make a small commission on any product you buy through our links.

About Our Top Ten Prostate Massagers For Advanced Players

There are a couple of things that distinguish an advanced prostate massager from a beginner. First, is a matter of size.

People experienced in anal play like the feeling of fullness that a larger size toy gives them. This is an acquired taste that only comes from lots of practice and frankly a bit of desensitization that happens from regular anal play.

But it isn’t just a matter of fullness, a bigger head on a prostate massager means that it will touch and stimulate  a larger area of the prostate, giving even more pleasure than usual.

Of course, inserting a much larger prostate toy means you have to be a much more deeply experienced person in relaxing the sphincter. Otherwise it’ll feel like you’re starring in a horror movie. We’re going to give you some tips on relaxing your sphincter towards the end of this article.

The other thing that you’ll notice about advanced prostate massagers is that they tend to be vibrating toys.

For example, 6 out of the 10 highest-scoring advanced prostate massagers on our list have vibrating capabilities. That shouldn’t be a surprise because the more experienced you are in anal play the more you want a variety of sensations. A variety that for the most part can only be attained by different vibration patterns.

Advanced prostate toys not only have vibration capabilities but they also try to outdo each other with the sophistication of those vibrations.

This could be, for instance, a larger number of vibrating patterns. Or it could be more powerful settings. Or it could be sophisticated remote controls, like the ability to operate the vibrations through your smartphone.

We definitely do not recommend these advanced prostate massagers for beginners. They have enough problems inserting anything into their bums.  The idea of inserting something that vibrates and that you have to control either through a remote or on the vibrator itself is just too much for them.

Another thing that distinguishes advanced prostate massagers is their beautiful, thoughtful design. There is no getting around it– the more advanced prostate toys are far more beautiful than the ones for beginners. There are some exceptions but they just proved the rule.

Yet another thing that separates advanced prostate massagers is that they are made from better materials. That means that they are going to last longer and feel better.

For example, the silicone that they use is of a higher grade so it’s going to feel a lot plushier. Hey, is that a word? Plush and squishy rules the day for the better massagers.

So there you have it. Advanced prostate massagers tend to have vibration capabilities, are designed more beautifully, last a lot longer, and the single most important thing we haven’t talked about it, will give you a much more powerful prostate orgasm.

Scientific reasons why prostate massagers help you cum more and shoot farther.

More On Our Top 10 Prostate Massagers For Advanced Players

If you are a prostate massager aficionado you might notice that some popular massagers did not make our list. This is because we only rate massagers that are made with body safe materials.

Because the government does not regulate sex toys very well,  we cannot trust any label that claims the product is manufactured with body safe materials.

So how do we determine which products are made with materials that will keep you safe?

We went to the sex toy reviewers we trusted the most. The reviewers who know the manufacturers intimately. The reviewers who have actually sent products to be tested for toxicity. We went to all those reviewers and did a roundup of which manufacturers they trusted.

Armed with that list of reputable manufacturers we set out to analyze the products they produced. And no one else’s.

We are not casting aspersions on any prostate massager that did not make our list. For example, many of the big sex toy online retailers produce their own popular prostate massagers. But because we don’t know who manufactures it for them we don’t have a sense of the kind of materials that they are using–no matter what they claim or what the label says.

Why is it so important that prostate massagers be made out of body safe materials?

Body heat can break down toxic, often cancer-causing agents used in the manufacturing of a sex toy. These particles can leak into your insides and wreak havoc. From negligible things like rashes to overwhelming consequences like cancer.

The stakes are too high to ignore the manufacturing process of sex toys.

It is also by the way, why we never link to Amazon even though they have the cheapest prices. Here’s why:  Amazon has a huge problem with counterfeit products. These fakes are hard to tell from the real stuff.

And if it’s a fake you can bet your bottom dollar, or a dollar on your bottom, that they are made with unsafe materials.

The counterfeit situation on Amazon is so bad that some reputable sex toy manufacturers literally have pages on their website warning people not to buy from Amazon.  Often, because they know people will shop Amazon no matter what, they will outline the rigorous steps you need to take to ensure that you are buying a genuine product from the brand.

Counterfeit products are not only most likely made out of unsafe materials, they also tend to break and not work as promised.

Many consumers, unaware that they bought a counterfeit product, end up leaving bad reviews for the real brand.

These consumers are also angry that they can’t get a refund. But the manufacturer is not going to give you a refund for buying a counterfeit product.

Bottom line:  stay away from Amazon if you want to buy a genuine sex toys made by a reputable manufacturer. Or, to be completely fair to Amazon, do your homework and research how to avoid buying counterfeit products.

The Great Drawback To Our Top 10 Prostate Massages For advanced Players

If you analyze the toys on our top 10 prostate massagers list you will notice that the one thing that they almost all have in common is a high price.

This brings up a great question:  how much is too much for something you’re going to stick up your ass. 🙂

A question like this is best answered with another question– what is a powerful orgasm worth to you?

If it isn’t worth much then you shouldn’t spend the money for an advanced massager.

But if it is, then you should.

A lot of people wonder why advanced prostate massagers are so expensive. Our answer is simple: quality costs.

If you were to line up the top beginner prostate massagers on one side of the table and the top advanced toys on the right side a few things will become obvious.

First is that the advanced massagers are far more beautiful. In fact, some critics consider them a work of art. beauty is an unquantifiable characteristic. If you value it you’ll be willing to pay for it. If you don’t value it then it’s not going to be a criteria for your selection.

Another thing you’ll notice, especially if you touch the products, is that the advanced massagers literally feel better. If it’s a silicone product, the silicone will be made from a higher grade and therefore feel a lot more plush.

Same thing with other materials like steel or glass. There really are major differences in the type of glass the cheaper prostate massagers use than the more expensive ones.

Another differentiating factor among advanced toys is that they are built better and therefore will last longer. Many have made the case that what you save from your original purchase of a cheap toy goes out the window over time because you will most likely have to replace it.

Yet another thing that you’ll notice between the beginner and advanced toys is at the advanced ones tend to have the capability to vibrate.

This doesn’t make the advanced toys better; it just makes them different. Vibration settings and patterns can add a completely new dimension to anal play but that capability costs money and it’s a major reason for high advanced toy prices.

But let’s get back to our original question– how much is too much to stick up your bum?

Sadly we have no answer to that. It is strictly a matter of what is important to you and what your budget considerations are.

We maintain that the best strategy for buying sex toys is to start small, whether that’s in size or in price and establish a “pleasure proof-of-concept.” Meaning, prove to yourself that prostate toys deliver memorable pleasure.

This is important because there is no point in spending a lot of money on something that doesn’t give you a lot of pleasure. If you can prove to yourself that cheaper prostate massagers give you immense pleasure, then you have the proof you need to spend more money on better products.

The #1 Sex Toy Store Online According To Our Customer Satisfaction Ratings

The #1 Sex Toy Store Online According To Our Customer Satisfaction Ratings

Where To Buy Sex Toys Online

How many times has a certain hesitation stopped you from buying a vibrator online?

Or exploring butt plugs? Or submission rope?

If you’re like a lot of guys, the hesitation isn’t about wanting a sex toy or being ashamed of wanting it (it’s 2019 for chrissakes!).

The hesitation isn’t WHAT, it’s WHERE.  As in where should you buy a sex toy?  After all, there are over 200 stores online specializing in mail-order orgasms and a great deal of them are shady.

You may not have verbalized this to yourself so we’ll do it for you: Imagine the inconvenience and out-of-pocket costs of ordering a sex toy that doesn’t work from a company that makes it nearly impossible to return it or get a refund.

It’s one thing to complain to your office mates about calling Comcast for the internet going out but what about a defective sex toy?  You can’t exactly say, “My vibrator quit just as I was about to part my waters and the villains at Nymphotoys.com’s customer service won’t answer their phones!”

Well, you could say it but….

At any rate, you won’t need to if you look at our ratings of online sex toy stores because you can order from stores that have a proven record of customer satisfaction.

Introducing The Top 10 Sex Toy Stores Online

We’ve rated 200 online stores in our report titled, Where To Buy Sex Toys Online. Here are the Top 10:

Hey, wait a minute! What about the rest of the 200 stores? You’ll see them in a minute. For now, let’s be realistic: If you can’t feel comfortable ordering from stores that ranked 1-10 out of a list of 200 then we’ve failed at pleasuring your consumer sensibilities!

We kid.  There are lots of reasons to go further down the line–some stores specialize in items you prefer or some stores might offer better incentives important like free or low shipping costs.

How We Got Our Store Ratings

We couldn’t very well order items from 200 different stores so our ratings are NOT based on our opinion.  They’re based on the opinions of verified customers in surveys done by independent product review companies.

The easiest way to understand this is through Google’s Seller Rating–a score Google gives to companies who hire independent research companies to survey their customers or embed Google’s code into their websites (you’ll know this as “Google Reviews”).

Now, the truth is that only about 30 of the 200 online sex toy stores have a Google Seller Rating. How did we determine scores for the rest of the pack?

Through a combination of third-party research companies that score websites on Domain Authority, PageRank and TrustFlow.  We don’t want to get too far into the weeds with this so suffice it to say that these companies offer metrics that rank websites on their popularity and trustworthiness.

The bottom line: You don’t have to guess or take a risk on an unknown store. You can look at our ratings and see how third-party independent companies rank them. Again, you are not seeing our opinions of the best stores; we have aggregated data from unbiased sources to rank them.

Now for the first time buying a sex toy will be almost as pleasurable as using one. Enjoy!

Top 30 Best Prostate Massagers For Men

September 22, 2020

Top 30 Best Prostate Massagers For Men

Top 30 Best Prostate Massagers For MenTop 30 Best Prostate Massagers For Men

We got our Top 30 Prostate Massagers For Men by aggregating thousands of critic and user reviews and turning them into single, understandable scores from our Moan-O-Meter.

For the critics score, we swept the web for every prostate massager review we could get our hands on that was done by professional critics with blogs that specialize in sex toy reviews.

We categorized each one of those reviews on a scale from very negative to very positive.

Then we summarized the pros the cons and the in-betweens into what we call the “critics consensus.”

On the customer side, we scoured the web for every sex toy online retailer who published reviews from customers who purchased the products.

We were careful only to use stores that had a designation called Google Seller Ratings. This ensures that all the published reviews came from verified purchases, as Google has extensive requirements for a retailer to achieve the Google Seller Rating designation.

From there, we calculated each product’s average score, then had our statistician design a fair and equitable way of turning the scores into percentages that would be meaningful for consumers to compare products.

At first we didn’t want to publish such a long list. After all, most people would just stop at the top 10 or 15. But the truth is the top 10 or 15 might not have the features in a prostate massager that you would want, so it makes sense to include as many as we can.

It’s important to reiterate that we do not conduct any sex toy reviews. If that were so, you would see a listing of our personal preferences.

Instead, what you are seeing is essentially the wisdom of the crowds. What we are presenting to you is what the market thinks of the products.

We think this is a much more valuable way of sizing up a product. We hope you agree!

Why You Have To Buy Sex Toys Made With Body Safe Materials

Why You Have To Buy Sex Toys Made With Body Safe Materials

Non-Toxic. Non-Porous. Body-Safe. These are important buzzwords in regards to sex toys, but what exactly do they mean, and why are they important? You’re about to find out why it’s critical that you only buy sex toys made with body safe materials.

If sex toys were classified as medical devices, they would subject to manufacturing regulations enforced by the FDA and put through rigorous testing to ensure they are safe for use prior to being marketed and sold to the public.

Since they are classified as novelty items, the sex toy manufacturing industry is free to use labels like non-toxic and body-safe without those claims having been proven accurate.

Expert critics at Sex Toy Collective explain the importance of this distinction, saying “A novelty means that it is intended to be for visual and aesthetic purposes.  By selling toys as novelties stores can get away with selling dildos made of cheap and dangerous materials.”

Sex Toys Are An Unregulated Industry

Sarah Sloat at Inverse warns that you are responsible for ensuring that sex toy you are purchasing is safe for use: “This $15 billion industry has some of the most unregulated safety standards in the country, at both the state and federal level. When it comes to buying sex toys, the burden of determining whether companies are honest about toxic materials, harmful design flaws, and misleading packaging falls solely on the consumer.”

Because there are no regulations governing the production of sex toys, it’s left to the consumer to be sure they are purchasing safe toys from reputable companies that do not use toxic materials in the manufacturing of their products. “When you purchase a chair, you can presume that the commission has rigorously tested its utility, meaning you probably won’t fall as soon as you sit on it. But when you buy a vibrating dildo, you can only hope that it’ll screw you in the way that you want,” says Sarah Sloat.

What are Phthalates?

Also known as plasticizers, phthalates are chemical additives used to make plastics more flexible and less likely to break. Phthalates are commonly found in numerous products, including personal care products (shampoo, nail polish, etc), rain coats, plastic automotive parts, detergents, lubricating oils, and until 2018 in the United States, plastic children’s toys. In regards to exposure to these dangerous chemicals, “The risk is relatively low, since the phthalates come in lower concentrations,” explains professional critic Mia Hart from Blissful Cherry. “They do not make much contact with your body.”

Why should you care?

You may not have to worry about intimate bodily contact with those raincoats and automotive parts, but sex toys are another story. Since most are designed to be inserted in your anus, vagina, or mouth for prolonged periods of time, your exposure risk is much higher than with other every-day items. This is bad news for your nether regions, not only because they are more sensitive, but also because the amount of phthalates used in cheap, poor quality sex toys. “Sex toys that utilize phthalates use them in very high quantity,” says Mia Hart from Blissful Cherry. “It requires a lot more phthalates to get a thick dildo to be bendy and flexible compared to a thin shower curtain.”

Consequences Of Using Toxic Sex Toys.

Allergic reactions causing burning, stinging, or itching could be the least of your problems. Yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis, and serious conditions including cancer and infertility could result from using a sex toy made from porous or unsafe materials.

Professional critic Felicity of Phallophile Reviews warns of the dangers of using toxic sex toys: “Toxic toys leach harmful byproducts into your body, including unknown chemical additives6 and phthalates. Phthalates are a special cause for concern because these plasticizers (additives that make PVC and other rubbers softer and more flexible) have been associated with—but not directly linked to—cancer and numerous other health problems.”

Sex Toy Testing

Not sure if your toy is safe?  There are a few DIY ways to test for sex toy safety at home.

Flame Test.

“Flame testing” is a test used on silicone toys to determine if the toy marketed as 100% silicone really is 100% silicone.  A quick and easy test, all you need is your supposedly silicone toy and a lighter. Hold the orange part of the flame to the toy to see how it burns.  Dangerous Lilly offers advice on determining the results of your flame test, saying, “One thing that a pure silicone will NOT do, no matter what type it is, is burn like an oil lamp.” She says to look for certain results indicating a pure silicone product, including “pale-to-medium gray ash which is easily removed; a small amount of material damage and “flaking”, leaving behind a sticky patch; no change; black, sooty mark that rubs off easily; black, sooty mark that doesn’t rub off 100%.” If your sex toy is not pure silicone, you will wind up with a flaming and/or melted toy – so be sure to  keep some water nearby when doing this test.

Lick Test.

Lick it!  Sounds weird, right? This test may not be ideal for all people, as some may find this method to be, well, gross.  If you lick your toy and your tongue goes numb, that indicates a dangerous chemical that you do not want any (more) exposure to. If licking your toy to determine if it’s toxic doesn’t appeal to you, the experts at Sex Toy Collective propose an alternative method using one of your other five senses: “As an alternative to this I just smell it and if it smells chemically I know it has phthalates – this takes more experience though.”

Polariscope Test.

This method involves a tool used by jewelers and geologists called  a polariscope to determine if glass has been properly annealed. The Sex Toy Collective recommends ordering one from Amazon for around $30. “It will reveal the flow of the glass and show you how it cooled.  If the toy shows rainbow colors it is weaker and more fragile than a clear toy.” A weak or fragile glass toy is not a toy that would be considered body-safe, and it poses a significant health risk by being more likely to break or chip.

Lead Test.

Glass toys can also be tested for lead at home with a simple lead testing kit. “Lead can appear in glass toys with a varnish coating on them,” explains Sex Toy Collective. Lead poisoning can lead to serious health complications, and in severe cases can be fatal.

Avoid These Sex Toys

There are some sex toys on the market that should not be sold. Without any regulation, it’s important to do your research. Sex Toy Collective warns “It’s still the wild wild west for sex toys and regulations are almost non-existent.  Chinese factories can get away with putting toxic chemicals into rubber toys.” You’ll want to avoid toys made from these materials:

Jelly.

Because Jelly toys are among the cheapest to produce, they are generally made with large amounts of phthalates and other toxic chemicals. Samantha Evans at Jo Divine also explains that they are impossible to sanitize,  saying “jelly products are porous and therefore difficult to keep clean. The material used to make them is more prone to breaking down and degrading over time, making the product unhygienic to use.”

Rubber.

Although body-safe silicone is also known as “silicone rubber,” don’t be fooled by manufacturers that market their “rubber” products as body-safe. Felicity of Phallophile Reviews advises, “This is another porous material that often contains phthalates; there’s no way to tell for sure what’s in it without chemical analysis.”

Cyberskin.

This skin-soft material is highly porous, can’t be sanitized, and can be toxic. Dangerous Lily warns, “If it’s not pure silicone, and it looks super realistic (and it’s not Fleshlight) then avoid it.”

Vinyl and PVC.

Cheap to produce, therefore likely to be high in phthalates, vinyl and PVC toys should be avoided.  Miss Ruby Reviews recommends you avoid any toy made with vinyl and PVC, saying, “PVC, by nature, is a very hard substance, so if you have a soft squishy PVC toy, it’s likely that it’s been softened with toxic phthalates. This is a very common sex toy material because it’s cheap to produce. This is a very porous material.”

TPE, TPR, Elastomer, and Other Silicone-Blends.

Although it is possible to find sex toys made from these materials that are non-toxic, they will still be porous, so it’s best to put them on your “avoid” list. Miss Ruby Reviews explains, “TPE sex toys have been known to retain things like HPV, so definitely no sharing. The vast majority of TPE on the market is porous, so I personally avoid it.”

Sex Toys To Use With Caution

These are toys that fall into a gray area, as they are non-toxic but not necessarily body-safe. Toys in this category would not be considered shareable between partners, as they cannot be properly sanitized.

Porous Toys.

Porous toys are toys that can never be properly sanitized. They are not safe to be shared between partners, and you should exercise caution if you ever use the toy when you have any kind of infection, as you could reinfect yourself. Dangerous Lilly cautions that, “Bacteria, mildew, fungus etc can enter the pores of these materials and make a home. The more porous the material is, the easier this will happen.”

Unannealed Glass Toys.

“Annealing is a delicate process that takes a lot of skill, resources, and proper machinery. An annealed dildo is strong and won’t break as easily as other glass dildos,” explains Sex Toy Collective.  Use caution when purchasing glass toys, and always buy from a reputable company. You’ll also want to avoid glass toys with any sort of coating or varnish.

Unflared Anal Toys.

Sometimes it’s not just the materials the sex toy is made from, it’s the design, too.  Unflared anal toys are at risk for getting stuck in your rectum, requiring a trip to the ER. Sex Toy Collective recommends you pay attention to manufactures, noting that, “Chinese manufacturers will market a toy on amazon as an anal toy, when it should only be a dildo.  Only use toys anally if they are flared enough that they won’t get stuck inside you.”

Sex Toys That Are Known To Be Safe

There are plenty of non-toxic, non-porous, body-safe sex toys made by reputable manufacturers available on the market.

100% Pure Silicone.

“This is the quintessential material used in designer sex toys. If a sex toy uses silicone, you can rest assured knowing you are getting a high-quality product,” explains Mia Hart from Blissful Cherry. Silicone is non-porous and easy to clean, so it can be shared and properly sanitized.

Wood.

Make sure your wood toys are properly sealed with a medical grade finish for safety and longevity. Felicity of  Phallophile Reviews says, “Wood toys are safe if they’re coated in multiple layers of body-safe varnish, like Nobessence toys are.”

Medical-Grade Stainless Steel.

Medical grade stainless steel toys are non-toxic, non-porous, and easy to clean. Dangerous Lilly highly recommends Njoy as the premier brand for stainless steel toys.

Glass.

“Glass is non-porous, phthalate-free, hypoallergenic, and difficult to destroy,” explains Miss Ruby Reviews. Properly annealed glass is easily sanitized, non-porous, and non-toxic, making it a very safe sex toy material.

Plastic

As long as it’s ABS plastic, you’re fine.

Conclusion

Educating yourself on the difference between safe and unsafe materials used in the manufacturing of sex toys is an important part of being a responsible sex toy owner. “For now, the onus is on consumers to figure out what’s safe. The easy accessibility of the Amazon and eBay sex toy market has made that more difficult in recent years, and not just because it’s harder to verify what goes into international products,” explains Sarah Sloan from Inverse. Until the time comes when sex toys are recognized as more than “novelty items” and manufacturers are required to prove that their products are safe and non-toxic, consumers will have to be vigilant about their own health and safety.

What Is A Prostate Orgasm?

September 5, 2020

What Is A Prostate Orgasm?

What Is A Prostate Orgasm? What Is A Prostate Orgasm?

For a lot of men reaching climax is when you come, ejaculating through the penis. In most cases, the build-up to this wonderous moment comes through stimulating the head of your cock by some type of sex act. This is generally considered a penile orgasm. So what is a “prostate orgasm?”

The prostate gland is a walnut-sized organ located in the core of your pelvis. You can find it directly through insertion into the anus, or indirectly by rubbing the perineum. If you want to go all-in on finding this wonderous erogenous zone – it’s about two inches in fingers (or toys) pointed toward your belly.

Distinctions Between Ejaculation and Orgasm

“The scientific study of orgasm has always been challenging,” Roy Jerome Levin (researcher at the University of Sheffield) writes in the journal Clinical Anatomy. When you ejaculate, seminal fluid is expelled from the shaft through stimulation. This happens mostly in conjunction with orgasm – but orgasm itself is different.

Orgasm is the cresting of sexual delight. This release of physical tension is felt throughout your entire body. It can go hand in hand with ejaculation, but it can also be reached without coming. It can be more easily achieved through prostate stimulation.

Numerous Male Orgasms and Dry Climax

Believe it or not, men can reach multiple orgasms – and they don’t have to be wet. You’re probably thinking, “Yeah, right,” but it’s true. Through the use of prostate play and massagers, many men have reached a level of pleasure once thought impossible. The kicker is – you’ve got to know what you’re doing.

You don’t even have to ejaculate to reach the crescendo of climax. Dry orgasm in men can be achieved multiple times, in one session, through milking the prostate. Try it out on yourself first, get a toy, and then involve your partner for the most erotic experiences of your lives.
